Apple devices are a reliable way to watch XCodes IPTV, especially Apple TV 4K, which has a fast processor, Ethernet on most models, and well-built player apps. The key difference from Android: you can only install apps from the App Store.
What you need
- iPhone or iPad on a recent iOS/iPadOS version, or an Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
- An App Store player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U
- Your XCodes IPTV login — see the login guide
Step 1: Choose a player in the App Store
- Open the App Store on your device (on Apple TV, it's the blue App Store icon).
- Search for "IPTV player".
- Check the description for Xtream Codes / Xtream API or M3U support.
- Look at the price model. Many players are free to download but offer a subscription or one-off purchase to unlock features such as the TV guide or multiple playlists.
- Check whether the app has iCloud sync — this lets you add your login once on your iPhone and have it appear on your Apple TV.
Step 2: Add your login
On iPhone or iPad
- Open the player and select Add playlist or the + button.
- Choose Xtream Codes and enter the server URL, username and password.
- Paste rather than type if you can — copy each value from your activation email.
- Save and wait for the content to load.
On Apple TV
Typing on the Siri Remote is slow. Use one of these shortcuts:
- iCloud sync — add the login on your iPhone in the same app and it appears on Apple TV.
- iPhone keyboard — when a text field is active on Apple TV, a notification on your iPhone lets you type with the phone's keyboard.
- QR code or web upload — some apps show a QR code that opens a page on your phone where you can enter your details.
Step 3: Tune your Apple TV for IPTV
Apple TV has two display settings that make a visible difference:
- Go to Settings → Video and Audio → Match Content.
- Turn on Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate.
With these on, the Apple TV switches to the frame rate of each stream, removing the slight judder you otherwise see on 50 Hz UK and German broadcasts.
Also consider:
- Ethernet — Apple TV 4K models with 128 GB storage, and earlier Apple TV 4K/HD models, have an Ethernet port. Use it if your router is nearby.
- Keeping the app updated — enable automatic app updates in Settings → Apps.
Watching on iPhone over mobile data
HD streams can use several gigabytes per hour. If your player has a quality setting, choose a lower one on mobile data, and check your plan's data allowance. Each device playing at once counts as one of your plan's connections.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official XCodes IPTV app for iPhone?
The service works through third-party player apps that support the Xtream Codes or M3U login format, so you can choose the one you prefer.
Why does my Apple TV app show channels but no TV guide?
Some apps only enable the guide in a paid tier, and some need a separate EPG link when you use M3U. See how to fix a missing TV guide.
Can I use AirPlay from my iPhone to my TV?
Yes, many player apps support AirPlay, but a native Apple TV app usually gives better quality and frees up your phone.
Does XCodes IPTV work on a Mac?
Yes. See the Windows and Mac setup guide for desktop options, including VLC.
